advice...

my wife and I recently found out that we are going to be parents. Its exciting! We have been getting all types of congratulations from people. That has been awesome, but then reality hits and we don't know anything about raising kids. We are open to any advice or suggestions that parents would be willing to disclose to us. For those of you that have children what advice would you give to future parents?

Mark and Lauren,
Pretty soon (if you have not already), people you know will walk up to you out of nowhere and literally start asking you if they can watch your kid. IMMEDIATELY get their contact details and hold them to their offer! Allegedly it is pretty rare for parents to find folks to watch their kids (ESPECIALLY for free!)...Luke is already keeping a list for Seth.... and please feel free to let us be the first names on YOUR list! :)

I recommend figuring out what area's of your life/time you can begin to budget differently. You are going to have things that you will have to let go of to better love your wife and child.

Make sure you've both got people around you that will help you in that journey.

And count me in as one of those people!

Mark,
its sarah martin...
I heard from carol mace you all were expecting. That is so exciting! Congratulations to you and Lauren. As a lot of my college friends are experiencing their first little ones, they say that there's nothing to prepare you and you learn as you go without getting much sleep:)
Grace and peace be with you both during this adventure.
